I just purchased this beautiful antique tea kettle and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about it's age. I've stried to find info on the web, but so far I've struck out. The kettle has dovetail joints on the side and bottom and I've read that this means it is from the 1860's. Don't know the truth in that, but I would appreciate any help. The handle is rolled copper and the handle arms are solid brass as is the ring around the opening for the top. It is tin lined and the piece is really in great shape. The only markings I can find are an 8 stamped on each handle bottom on the inside.
