I love the travel tip on the back of this one, it reads: How to avoid roadside grief - Cheerful attendants at independent Chevron Gas Stations or Standard Stations will be glad to check your tires, battery, radiator. They're specially trained to watch for hidden troubles, warn you before a failure!
Again, in fantastic condition for age!! Bit like myself really!!

Back when Service Stations provided "service" - Now all you can get is gas (petrol) and you have to pump it yourself.
Same in England mustangtony, pump it yourself then go and pay for the privilege!
Must get some of my vintage cookery books on for you to see!
Justanovice - we have to pay for ours FIRST before pumping. Too many people somehow were forgetting to pay afterwards. You can no longer buy tires, batteries, headlights, or even windshield wipers, nor get any kind of garage service here anymore - but you can get gum, cigarettes, soda pop and lottery tickets. On my recent trip, I couldnt even find a station that sold road maps.
Hi mustangtony! The road map being unavailable at your station is unbelievable, but having said that I am not that sure that I would find one at ours - must check that out! We also have people that drive away after filling up with petrol without paying, so I do not think it will be too far off when we do as you do and pay first!!! It is all about profit and sales now and not about a good service - a sad departing from the way we remember it I think! (The Good Old Days!) That is my moan for tonight!!LOL:-)
Thank you BELLIN68! for the love on all my vintage road maps, have quite a few more when I get around to it!!
