Loetz, Carneol vase is a beautiful puffy pillow shape with hand painted enamel accents of geometric designs just below the rim and has an applied footed base on four sections of the vase. Cased glass. Interior white and exterior a (brownish) blood red with crystal casing. Rim on the vase and underneath each applied crystal peg is cut with a polished edge. Applied base has multiple drips that adheres on to the pillow vase.

4" tall. 2-/8" x 1-1/2" rim and the applied base is 4" x 2-1/4" diameters.
Pillow vase is 4-1/4" wide.

Harrach also produced Marmoriertes decor which is very similar to Loetz. According to another CW posting this colour maybe called, Blutmarmor which is blood marble.

Please check out, "Harrach Marmoriertes Lobed Vase, ca. 1900" CW story from Warren, aka BohemianGlassAndMore to view his posting which is a very good read on the subject.

What a lovely form! It puts me in the mind of something from the sea. When I first looked at it in the small picture, I thought it was a sea shell! Very pretty! Thanks for sharing it with us. :-)

Marmorietes means marbled. the whole line from loetz was called marmorietes and the colors were referred to by carneol (blood) or malachite ect. Harrach basically is called the same thing as the loetz lines. It's very hard to tell them apart.
