This is my 1980 Honda cx500 custom with a vetter fairing. All original no restore. 41,000 miles. I bought this 3 years ago to be my daily rider. About a year later the motor developed a knock. Turns out someone had let the timing chain get way too stretched and made a groove in the case to where the metal shavings must have ruined the rod bearings and crank surfaces. Thing is they must have replaced the timing chain only and then sold it to me with me not knowing. So I spent several months in my free time and completely rebuilt the motor crank up about a year ago. This was no easy task and had to pay a pretty hefty price for a lightly used perfect crank off of ebay. By far this is the absolute perfect bike for me. Big frame sized bike, v twin 500cc power yet very good mileage (around 49-50 mpg) and a windshield. I will keep this motorcycle till the day I die lol.
