This is now the earliest piece of glass I have in my collection. It's in great condition. This style of Decoration became very unpopular after 1810 or so. Most of the dates I've seen on similar pieces has been Circa 1780. Red was often a dominant color on decoration of this era. It's one of the first common hallmarks to look for. It was rarely used as a *main* decorating feature after this time period in this style of glass. You'll notice how everything is hand done in this intricate Georgian pattern. Even the gold chain has little irregularities.

It is beautiful. Thank you for sharing both the vase and the information about the colour. May I ask, could you describe the red? My monitor shows the colours as pale pink, rose, and the red shown next to the gold/mustard colour is an iron/brick sort of red. Is that correct? I especially appreciated your highlighting of the chain. So much of collecting glass has to do with learning how to see. I found your having drawn the chain to my attention very helpful. I could see what you were talking about as soon as I enlarged the photo. Thank you.

I think your description is probably pretty apt. I unfortunately am rather handicapped when it comes to describing color in detail beyond generalities. LOL. I think the Brick red next to the yellow comes from their mixing a little .
