I've found this at a booty for £5 and love it
I think it's raw jade I'm not sure if you can see the Detail in these photos. It is a lovely Piece but I'm not sure where it comes from ??? Is it maya, Aztecs, is it Oriental? I've never seen anything like it before
His body looks Oriental but the head is Totally bizarre. If you can see in the photo of the head it's got it's ears Pierced. And the holes don't look like their have been Made with a conventional drill, the holes are And even and not Perfectly tubular, like it was done by hand.
Can anyone help me found out anything about him as I'm lost. Thanks

Perfect example of fictitious, modern and touristy items purposely made to look old. Fictitious when you see a ridiculous combination of Sanxingdui mask (genuine bronze mask piece is way larger than this statue), Chinese warrior body armour of a later period and holding a Disc Bi with simple incised lines typical of Eastern Zhou period. Sanxingdui is an excavation site in Sichuan, China, attributed to the Shu period or Shang Dynasty. Such pieces typically use the lowest quality of stone (may not even be jade) available, hence the willingness to artificially alter the surface. You got to provide more convincing evidences that it was done by hand. Well, unless you meant using hands to navigate the stone around machine tools or vice versa, that you are correct. Most likely originated from mainland China and 5 pounds about right for the labour cost. Not an antique if you are thinking that you got a steal. Cheers.
