I got the 8' by 10' sign on a building I bought. It was painted over with latex paint and I'm currently in the process of cleaning it up. Anyone seen anything like it?
1948 made in Lynchburg VA. It's in two pieces and it called a "Sprite"

i've seen it before, although i can't remember where. i like how it looks - rusty patina and all!
It's called Sprite Boy. A near mint condition sign recently sold for $2,000 at an auction. But unless you have a lot of wall space to display this monster sign, these aren't highly sought after by collectors. Still a great discovery....
That my 6'+ dad standing next to the cleaned up sign!
Amazing that you were able to bring it back to looking so good. Well Done.
Wondering how many more of these signs (and other old signs) are still attached to sides of building and painted over. Gotta start looking at older building in more detail. There could be many more "hidden gems" out there.
I'd love to see one in my living room!!
I've got the perfect spot for it! This is the same sign I'm hoping to snag at the auction in March(I'm bringin the trailer!). Speaking of the auction, what's the word? Are we having the first annual meeting of the 8-10 pack?
I'm still game for March.
Yes worth a few thosand if it is perfet
