I found these 2 "brooches" in a local Church bazaar for a dime each.
They had arrived from a local home and asking around the owner of the Jewellery box was born late 1890's.She worked in a fine China store in Toronto in the 1920's. Though Oriental children I wonder if they might be of European origin? The size is just over 3" high and although the backs lack pins/fasteners,I have found a couple of crude brooches online to convince me of their purpose.(One was a plastic german Flower child !) I attached them with water soluble glue into a suitable frame .Hope you like the colors /designs as much as I do and any thoughts on origin much appreciated. The black hair on the boy doesn,t wash off but is overglazed.
