The WW1 sweetheart items, while not as numerous as WW2, are (in my opinion) much more attractive.
This particular example is for a "Son in Service" in a MG Battalion. The Son in Service star has a bronze machine gun suspension with a silver overlay of "U.S.".
This example is on an original sales card of the era.
