Claude H. Venon is my father and the only son of Jules H. Venon. He is still living at the age of 88. As the son of a French merchant, Claude grew up living in two worlds, NYC and Mantes, France. He traveled on transatlantic ocean liners including the SS Normandie and the SS Champlain. Claude decsribes himself as 'the kid who could draw'. He has always been fascinated by boats and spent most of his adult life living in Connecticut by the Long Island Sound which is the subject of many of his paintings. I present here today a few examples of his beautiful artwork that have remained a part of our private collection for decades.
