This watch was handed down thru the family that originated in upstate NY.
I hope someone can tell me more about it. I have teid researching it on the net and cant find anything.
Inside back cover engraved H&W , Troy and the numbers 15527
on back of workings is inscribed " detached lever . . 13 jewels . . parachute compensation . . . Harris [or garris] and wilcox [ or wilcor ] Troy, N.Y.
inside the crystal engraved with picture of a female standing on something, throwing a wreath toward a field [?} a spinning wheel in back ground and and some sort of large bird over her shoulder
around the outer edge there appears to be small jewels separated by gold pins
edges and back of watch very ornately engraved
also engraved 1850
