I've always picked up old coins but not a serious collector. I really love these & thanks for posting them. Did Connecticut issue that many diff. ones or do you just have all of them that were issued? Just spent some time studying these and be glad I'm not there or I would have you tied up for hrs explaining each issue & where you got it.

Thank you for the interest blunderbuss2. There are aproximately 350 different varieties of coins may by Connecticut. I only have about 50 different. Still looking for the other 300 though-someday maybe. Most were bought at coin shows and fellow collectors. There is a yahoo group-C4 collectors club that you could ask the professionals any specific questions that you may have.

      Thanks

When I lived in St. Eustatius (Neth. Antilles), I found a French farthing in my garden. It had the date 178(rest was covered with an overlay stamp "NEVIS". These fast talking teary eyed "treasure hunters" talked me out of it with their bad luck stories. I really didn't want to let it go as I knew it had a good value & they paid nothing for it. Later they appear as finding wrecks & making loads of money. I wrote & asked for my coin back but got no reply. Now, I know that treasure hunters are like that & can't be trusted as they have no honour. Remember that as I do. With the silver & gold they found, they won't return my farthing.

Beware of treasure hunters. No scruples. They were working out of Marathon, FL & one was from Connecticut. I can look up the names if you want. They have even had documentaries on all the treasure they have found & won't return a simple farthing! I know of lots of things in the waters of the Caribbean & keep my mouth shut now. I've told of things & watched them disappear. In 40 yrs down here, you learn a lot.
