Hi this is my mom WW-2 RN, After being stationed in Iceland and England she returned to sell war bonds with Kate Smith, they became friends, Mom sent her chocolates and Kate gave my mom a gold and diamond watch, that I have now! (see letter). The last photo are I believe Coast Guard and Army or Navy Dr. as she was in charge of Worlds Largest Hosp. ship, Louis A Milne. (see my 1st post for article and photo of ship, she Christened ship and Kate sang God Bless America in Boston. I should say she was in charge of 40 other nurses on the ship. thanks for looking.

The dark blue uniform men, one is a captain in front and the other two are commanders in the Merchant Marine, the three brown uniforms are Army officers. Looks like the two Army men are Majors and your mother is a Captain.
Maybe Merchant Marines drove the ship?
In WW-2 it was very difficult for a woman to pass rank of Captain
Thank you all! It is very interesting to me to see this!
I have an 8X10 photo of ship also, and a photo of Santa coming to Iceland Army Hosp. The ward all decorated, I put the photo of Winston Churchill on the internet once and it was copied and sold at an auction as unknown photographer! I have photo here with me, but will not post again.
Thanks AR8Jason! You have great information!!!
