BEAUTIFUL BLUE CRACKLE GLAZE POTTERY VASE
This is a beautiful almost slate blue glazed ASIAN POTTERY VASE with large crackle pattern. The vase measures approximately 7 1/2" high by roughly 4 1/2" at the widest point. It has a small 1 3/4" opening with a rim that is 3 1/8" across X 1/2" before it tapers down to a slightly narrower neck. There is a row of large and small nodules that encircle the top area of the bulbous body and ends in a 2 1/2" diameter X 1/2" high footed base. The glaze is a beautiful shade of blue with a large darkened crackle pattern. Though the pottery vase itself is uncompromised, there are a couple of star fractures to the heavy glaze. I have no idea of the age of this piece nor of the country of origin. I am completely unknowledgeable about Japanese, Chinese, or other Asian pottery thus I am hoping someone can help with the identity and dating of this piece. I bought at a yard sale in Washington State about 18 years ago
