Here is another dollar watch by the New Haven Clock Co. 1853 - 1946.
The paper dial is marked PENNANT inside a sports style pennant flag.
Movement is marked:
PAT'S. MARCH 19 JUNE 25-07-JUNE 16--OCT. 27-08
JULY 13-09-FEB. 8-10
New Haven did not mark manufacture dates on their movements.
Inside the back cover is glued-in piece of paper, and written on it is:
I have not been able to find out who P.R. Nae is. Maybe a coach at some college, high school, etc.
I asume the 1926 date refers to "his death" and not the "death of the watch", since the watch is still running.
Maybe Kevin (AR8Jason) can find P.R. Nae in his cemetery database.
This is one of New Havens earlier stem wind and set watches. I think I have posted an early back-wind and set watch.
(I would like to see a "Dollar Watch" subcategory under Pocket Watches.)
Thanks for looking,
