Serving up Plum pudding & Christmas Wishes for all CW members.

This PC is from my Grandfathers collection, & is one of those items that could appeal to many different collectors.
So if you collect militaria, PC's, or Christmas items this is for you.
There is no US flag so it must date prior to Apr. 1917.
Reggie would have been around 8 - 11 yrs old.

Valentine & Sons Limited
John Valentine, an engraver, started the company in 1825, with his son James becoming a partner five years later. Valentines became a limited company in 1896, becoming a public company in 1907.
Valentine used a large number of artists including Louis Wain and Mabel Lucie Attwell. Among Valentine's noted series are Disney, Bonzo, Chloë Preston and the Nipper series by Brian White. Barribal, noted glamour artist, was also published by them. Among the landscape artists contributing to the "Art Colour Series" are Brian Gerald, E.W. Haslehurst, Geo. Melvin Rennie, E.H. Thompson and E.W. Trick.

Merry Christmas everyone

Merry Christmas David to you and your family. This looks like the biggest Christmas ham that I have seen, great card, should check my cards someday to see what Christmas ones I may, or may not have. Take care, and the best to you. Got a phone call a minute ago and some friends from my old job are making me a Christmas Hamper, thats nice news !~Phil.

Merry Christmas Phil, surprises are always welcome treats.

I believe that it is a plum pudding, traditional English Christmas fair, my Grandmother use to make it, & just before serving it she would pour brandy over it & light it. She would have the lights turned down low so everyone could see the light blue flame from the burning alcohol.

What a lovely card! Oh, such a shame about the creases.
I recently found a gorgeous trade card that was my mother's, but it turned out to have a small tear. Rats.
At any rate, I really enjoyed your card.
    Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you so much for the love & kind words MerryEllen! The creases are unfortunate, but I'm thankful that it survived all these years as it is a very unique card.
It's nice to see a new face checking in on my posts.
