Originally I didn't know who made this but I found reference to an auction catalog from an english glass collection that sold in the 90's thru sotheby's that was highly regarded as well researched and correct, so I bought a copy. This basic design is in there. The star pattern on the foot is unusual for bohemian. The other piece I had seen marked moser I now highly suspect had fake marks. There was a piece in that catalog identical to it in a known Stevens and Williams shape as Stevens and Williams. I had bought the piece that was marked Moser and returned it because it didn't feel right. Now I know it wasn't right. Still a good piece but it was also sold as a vase when it was a decanter missing it's stopper.

This piece was wrapped in a box that was just about the same size as the vase. it was wrapped in bubble with no other padding and I watched the post mistress drop it on the cement.. but still somehow it came out unscathed. It weighs about twice to three times the amount you'd expect it to from looking at it.

Also when taking photos of this piece right after I got it I realized how well trained my maine coon Andromeda is. She was kind of standing near it and when I pointed the camera at it she was like, Wait, wait let me get into positions and then posed for me sniffing the rim. It was really funny. It was like I'd yelled ACTION!
