Hello all, I found this while metal detecting a mid 1800's church in Buffalo NY. It says Gen. Benjamin Harrison, he has 2 stars on each side of him (Right and left). There is a star around him with a design in each of the stars points, a bugle, crossed swords, anchor and one I cant identify. It has the characteristics of a GAR medal but it could be a presidential button as he ran for office in 1888. Looking it up on the net, I saw many medals attached to ribbons with the same shape and star design but not the same picture of his head. The back is very minerilazed but appears to have a small elevated "dot" in the center that could have been attached to something. Any help identifying would be appreciated.
