WWII 1940's 17 inch counter display mannequin
This is a rare one along with her sister I . She has hair that is glued threads and was used to sit on a store counter to display clothing in minature scale or advertise any number of things . Maker unknown for sure but appears to be likely a Margit Nilsen creation
Margit Nilsen was a noted mannequin sculptor and sold her miniature mannequins to many stores . She is noted to have sold many to McCall Pattern Co.
These are not dolls but there is no category for them they are advertising displays .

I love the hair in the closeup photo the best as it resembles wool thread that is used for knitting, great job someone did, love it !~

Hi and thank you MaRS . They did package a Singer sewing doll mannequin with a miniature singer sewing machine in 40's . It is a regular miniature sewing machine not a plastic toy , the mannequin they put with set is dreadful looking and soft rubber rather ugly but the kits and graphic are wonderful . Thank you for stopping and never to late to add to a collection :-)
Thank you Phil . It is like a twisted silk thread and then sprayed to be very stiff . I like them with hair and also just sculpted hair . They are all amazing working girls during the WWII :-) Thank you for the love

We have the same Singer sewing machine. It was missing the model but we found one at an antique shop. I had been looking for a composition doll, and wasn't sure the hollow rubber one was right at the time. I have since learned the original was that strange floppy rubber.
MaRS the set was also sold without sewing machine too. Isn't that mannequin dreadful ugly and in person looks stranger it is a soft rubber . I would get a composition one and maybe some patterns to display machine with :-)
