This is the first piece of Loetz the I have been able to add to my collection. It is an unmarked piece and has a ground top with no pontil mark. It has a great irredescence of purples, blues, golds, and pink although that was hard to capture on these pics. I will attempt some better pics outside as time permits. The color is green of course, with knots and striations all over. This vase is approx 3.75" high x 3.5" at the widest part in the middle x 2.5" at the bottom x 2" at the top of the mouth. At first I was puzzled and thought...Have I been mistaken. After some help here on CW and some research on my own, I do believe this is a Loetz Rusticana. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

very pretty jay -- so your first loetz -- would doubt that i would know a loetz if i tripped over it -- but thanks to this site -- i am learning
Undoubtedly Loetz Creta Rusticana.
funny you say that Epson233. I have learned a great deal from this site as well. In fact because of this site broadening my horizen a bit, I have started collecting Loetz, Kralik, and all the other Chechz glass. I love it almost as much as the carnival glass and it has taken lead in front of the victorian glass on my list as well. Not to say that I dont like the victorian glass as well, I do and there will always be a fondness to it. I think I just like the nouvue(not spelled right) period better and the Chechz glass is tops in my book. Cant wait to get more for the collection...Thanks for the love!
stunning:) and very beautiful:)
Thank You Bellin68, My name is Jerrod btw. I feel like we should be on a first name basis as much as we look at the sites here on CW. I think I have seen yours before but was trying to be respectful as we have not formally be introduced. But now you know my name...Thanks for the Love!
your so right Jerrod :) and your very very welcome Jerrod:)
Thanks Bellin68, or is it Sean? You never really said...;)
Sean here and nice to meet you Jerrod:)
Likewise Sean, You have great taste and great stores there where you are. I love the pricing out there. The goodwills out here are rediculous. I have even had the pricing there be higher for used goods than you could pay full price at the retail stores. They are very greedy here considering that its all done by donation. Sorry didnt mean to get on my soapbox, just burns my bleep!
UNDERSTAND !!!!!!!! THE ST.VINNIES here are very expensive , once i chewed them out overpricing mikasa crystal that you can get @ Kohl's . i dont even go to Kohl's. and thankyou JayHow:) for the kind words:)
i understand where your coming from:)
i dont even buy mikasa :) i one piece and thats because it was from the 1960's and Michael lax designed it and it had his name on the bottom.
Jerrod, Yes, definitely a crete (green) Rusticana. When I get a moment I will try and look up the shape for you as requested. Not all Loetz shapes can be found in the two Loetz books that provide this information but it looks like an early piece so maybe I will be able to find it. Congratulations on acquiring your first piece of Loetz! Another site to study is Loetz.com. We will be unveiling a new site after the first of the year but will keep this site up for everyone who has enjoyed it for the past 11 years!
Bellin68 it is so funny that you say St Vinnies, they are pretty affordable around here. Much better that the GW. But everything I see that you mention is from GW around there seems to be much better price than here, so maybe its a trade off. Either way, the WG site is a great one for finding rare pieces if you dont mind being raped on the shipping prices....
Thanks LoetzDance for the great advice and the confirmation of the crete rusticana. thanks for the comments, keep watching I have a great Kralik coming soon...:)
Hello Jayhow!... I just wanted to say thank for all your lovely comments on my posts and wanted to wish you and yours a very safe and Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year...:-)
Thank you Inky! You are very welcome, Thank you for sharing all the great glass this year. Cant wait to see what next year will bring! Happy Holidays!
Your vase was made in 1900, and the production number is 166.
Thanks for that information dlfd911. I wonder with this information, where could a person go to obtain a line drawing of this vase? Just curious!
It's on p. 77 in the Ricke II Loetz line drawing book (musterschnitte)
thanks once again. do you know of any reference to that book that I can look at that page online or could you possibly send it to me via email. that would be awesome. I've been studying all I can on loetz to be able to make smart future purchases. But line drawings are the coolest reference I can get to what I already have. Any help would be great! Thanks dlfd911
Just sent it to your email Jerrod.
