I got this fom Air Force in 1975 it was giving to me from Generals and pilots, after comeing back from Vietnam. I see it has some 10k gold and it is really beautiful. Do not see anyones like this one on websites, it works great. Can anyone tell me about getting a new glass for this. Or is it plastic?

Love the watch, do you have a local jeweler that you know and trust? Trust being the key word. If not I have a card that i can forward his address and you can order one.

Bob may have just what you need and possible that he would replace it for you also. Might try leaving him a message on his page. Let me know how that works out, If not , we'll work something out.

Sorry so slow with response, I thought maybe he did, now I know. Did you deciede to use his watchsmith?

Bod told me at least $100 without parts, so i will look around soon, its not worth more than 75-100 because of the gold bezel. I did clean the crystal with brass cleaner it helped it. Would you pay this much for this watch? its not a Rolex?

Filmnet, try using 1200-1500 grit wet/dry paper to sand the scratches out, then use Brasso to clear the crystal, as it will look cloudy after the wet/dry paper.
This is only for acrylic/plastic crystals, for glass and mineral glass you can buy diamond pastes on Ebay for very little.
Here is a link to a watch very similar to yours:http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/Bulova_AD_1972_22.jpg

Question for you guy my date is wrong on this watch is there a way to change this. its a self winding watch?
    14. brunorob brunorob, 11 years ago
Hi Filmnet. Just because your watch is self winding you can still wind it manually. You should be able to set the date by pulling the stem out in stages. If not than you will have to keep moving the hands around the dial until the date moves.

Thanks brunorob, i couldn't find any instructions anywhere, so i fixed it out , open the stem all out and the number moves 1 day. Thanks 45 yrs and i now know about this.

Your welcome, but please take your watch to a jeweler or watchmaker. This watch needs oil. It's like driving your car without oil. It will be only a matter of time before it does damage to the movement.
      Bob
