I ran across this listing on ebay and was just curious if anyone knows who this piece was made by. It is signed tiffany, but not a signature I recall seeing(I haven't looked at a whole lot of tiffany though)

The piece looks like a silberiris glatt combo and the shape has kind of a ausf226 look to it. This made me think it could be loetz but I don't remember seeing any of their pieces with this orange color. The "bump"on the inside of the "bowl" also confused me a bit.

I saw the listing for this with little time left. Since I wasn't sure about it, I had to pass on it. Just curious what I passed on

Bellin it's not mine, unfortunately. Thanks though :). It was at much more than I can afford to "gamble" with. Im just seeing if I can find out what it is and see if I made a good or bad choice. Even though I didn't get to buy it, hopefully we can all learn something about it.

Loetz Silberiris! I'm not sure about the color with all of the peach showing on the piece as well as the background. I would think that it is actually more of a golden color than the peach. Interesting shape. Do you have a photo looking down at the rim?

Thanks very much Craig and Deb. I had a feeling it was a vandalized piece of loetz.
It ended up bring about $250 shipped and who knows what the top bidders max bid was. So, I don't think it was a steal, especially with the defacing. But if you think I'm wrong I would certainly like to know :).

Craig, I agree that something isn't right about the colors and that the background is most likely white. What software did you use to change it to show the real colors?

Deb, I will post up another picture in a second. Hopefully it is what you were wanting to see.

    Thanks again.

I agree Loetz Deco. Tiffany signature fake. I don't know how many pieces I have that had fake Tiffany signatures that I have had polished off !!!

Nice piece! But I don't get it who would do something like that... That is like defacing BMW to put a Mercedes mascot on the hood...

Thanks Frank. Do polished scratches and/or signatures change the value and is there any way to tell if a piece has been previously polished?
Thanks Craig, getting ready to DL and check it out.

Do you like your Sony? I run across nice, older lenses quite a bit but rarely any nice digital lenses. I have looked into a couple nikon bodies, but am not really liking the prices I've seen on the lenses.

Macart-I think it all boils down to the almighty $. I see your point though, and certainly agree with it.

This makes me curious. The cupped foot on this piece is very very similar to a vase I posted a little while ago. I was never able to be sure who to accredit it to and still to this day dont know. I have thought the foot would be a hint to who made it though, and now I see this. I have thought Loetz but cannot find any records leading to that. If you would like to see the example it is still posted as my green opaline vase with bronze applied rim or something along that line...look at the foot and you will see it looks just like this one. thanks
