Found this very beautiful Art Nouveau Gold painted Powder Jar with a really cool Nouveau Decor.. no marks that i can see.. jar is dirty and coated in powder inside and out.. want to give it a goood gentle cleaning but not sure what to use or how to do it.. looking for help on this i know it's Bohemian and its Art Nouveau.. Harrach? Heckert? Moser? Santa Claus? 3" tall 4" wide thanks... Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Evryone :)

Very pretty!..:-)
I love the stylized flowers and sun! the enamelling isn't quite what I'd expect from any of those three companies. I'd suspect a cottage industry refinery for this.
YMMV.
Soap, warm water and a gentle scrubber is all you need,
these boxes have always made me nervous because if you get them too wet you'll lose the putty keeping the metal in place and metal corrodes with any moisture. and once it starts to color it's very hard to fix. I have a minor collection of jewelry and old coins that i've learned that lesson from. I don't think I'd personally want to get one of these wet..
thanks mustangtony, inky, v50, chinablue, sean, david and phil for the loves
thanks alfredo for the tip :)
alisa, thanks as well for the info and hope you will fill me in on what YMMV stands for... to early to put the brain to work!..lol
alisa, the metal work is in fantastic cond. no corosion etc..so ill keep it dry when cleaning..thanks again :)
don't be scared to clean -- place a little dish soap (10 drops) in a small spray bottle and spritz away -- rinse and pat dry -- always keep a bottle of this by the sink for cleaning mirrors, figurines, rings jewelry etc -- gets the first layer of grime and gunk off nicely
lovely piece -- the crows and i sooooo approve of this one -- yummy yummy
YMMV Your Mileage May Vary
Merry Christmas czechman
