i finally get to cross an item off my wishlist -- purchased this one on ebay for just a little over a $100 -- spent the whole day yesterday taking it apart and polishing the brass -- these things are a puzzle -- i have seen them at antique auctions go for over $800 -- and listed as very old -- victorian 1800s -- which i highly doubt -- this one is of good quality and is cast brass -- but get that henky feeling in regards to it being that old -- threads are too perfect and look like more of what was seen in the early 1900s -- perhaps the 1920s -- sure glad i did not have to pay the $800 as some did and showing on the pinterest (sp?) site -- one currently on auction on ebay -- ends this morning -- they have 15 bids -- 6 bidders -- one of which is a nasty gnat and the other just needs to sit on her hands and keep off the keyboard

finished the pincushion last night in a reddish brown velvet -- just need to glue it in -- which i do not want to do as i like bright shinny things and the polish will stain the cushion -- what is a crow to do -- decisions decisions

if you have thoughts on the age -- chime right in -- always love the opinions and input

good morning kid jay -- thanks for loving her -- she is 9 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches in diameter -- to load her up you just pick up a spindle -- slide the spool or spools on and slide it back down into the holes - very user friendly -- she i am a proud mommy on this one -- have the black stained fingers to prove it -- need to do a clorax soak on them -- have a great day -- love your need pics on the yellow vase -- how are you coming with the green opalescent one for research

good morning sean -- thank you for loving her also -- you can see her before pics on ebay -- item number 221164936329 -- also purchased another the next day on a BIN -- item 251201744374 -- if you want to take a peak at them -- the last purchase was listed as a wrought iron -- i don't think so -- will see when it comes in and post it after it gets the mommy treatment -- have a great day sean and thanks for taking the time to comment on her

thanks sean -- can't wait to see the 1776 (ya right -- am sure it was not around at that time) will post before and after pics on it -- plan to go to hippos in portland oregon -- which is 3 stories high and block long building of lamp parts -- pure hog heaven for me -- and the ole crow that runs it knows exactly were every thing is located and what will work for an antique lamp of that period -- she is AMAZING -- i think hippos is on the web if you ever need such items -- it is a great resource -- take care dear one -- hugs

hi sean -- lost my train of thought were i was going with that hippo information -- on some of these holders they have finials on the top of the spool holders -- plan to add 6 small dolphin finials to the inside spools -- have one on one on my dolphin lamps and tried it out and fell in love all over again -- ya i know i've been told i'm a cheap date -- i have seen them done with swans -- eagles -- dancing milk maids -- i guess they are just like hot rods -- the more bling the better we love em -- one with the swans and maids that i mention in this posting sold on ebay yesterday -- item number 130818440027 finished out at $338 -- this is another one like mine that makes me think these are not that old and some clever design persons started making them from lamp parts -- got to get to peets for my morning coffee -- sure i have missed the "buck list" gang of mine -- have a good one
