Thanks Mani and tony!!
LOVE THIS VERY MUCH:)
Thanks Bell, pw, and Bruce!!!
A lovely clock! These are known as travel alarm clocks. In order to identify it, could you tell me what the markings are on the face, please? Offhand, this one looks German, and very nice it is too. Good luck with it and happy holidays!
ticktock, did you know that you can enlarge the pictures by clicking on them and then clicking on them again?? If you do that you'll see that this is a Westclox and is indeed made in Germany. I was wondering about it's age... Merry Christmas to you as well!!
I remember as a kid, my Oma had those clocks! She had a pretty turquoise one I loved! Nice!
spiritinthesky3, What's an Oma? Thanks to you and ws for the love!!
Hi,
The clock looks to be 50's or 60's. Westclox is a popular and collectable maker. Thanks!
P.S. An Oma is a granny in German.
Nathan, I would venture to date this late 1960's through the 1970's. Had it been cased in leather, I might say 50's-60's. But the hard plastic is period correct for my earlier suggestion.
Kerry
toolate2,
From what I have read, Westclox started importing travel alarm clocks, in folding cases from Germany in the late 1950's. In the 60's & 70's they expanded their importation of travel alarms from Asia (Hong Kong, Japan & Taiwan).
I agree with Kerry on the date.
Dave
Thanks for all the info guys! We've had it bouncing around the house for a long time. If you live long enough everything you've owned becomes a collectible...lol...
LOL , THAT IS SO TRUE:)
Oma is German for Grandma!
Had one of these although mine was a Seiko, but looked the same.
