I find this quite an enigma~ I think that this is very old and I remember seeing a hallmark of the bearded man on the history channel belonging to one of the founders of Virginia, all of his personal items bore this likeness of him.
This cup shows significant signs of being in the ocean (surf) for many years represented by the abrasions (Photo #1). The inside is definitely copper whereas the rest of the cup appears to be gold plated or brass. But why would they put brass over copper?
The cup is about three inches tall.
The hallmarks are very strange and look more like symbols than letters or numbers. Any help identifying this piece would be greatly appreciated. It was acquired in the blue ridge mountains of Virgina.
PLEASE HELP ME IN IDENTIFYING THIS ITEM,
    THANK YOU~ C.R.~

Please help identifying this item. It may be from one of the first explorers of the new world (U.S.). It is very old. I remember hearing the the Captains of those times had their little box of personal items such as a tooth pick, ear wax cleaner, shot glass~ often made from metal. And this bearded man hallmark matches that of the first founders of Virginia, they found his ring recently and this looks exactly like his hallmark. I have metal detected the oceans , in the surf for over 30 years and it bears the marks of being in the surf for a substantial period of time. I will have to post a picture where these abrasions are clearer. The "Bearded Man) was a nobleman from Europe. I would really like to know what the other hallmarks mean as well. One appears to be (76) fashioned into one symbol).

Bellinn68- Thank you so much for your comment. I have just begun research on this and will be adding more information. I hope when I revise the ad this does not erase the "comments" that have been posted. Again; Thank you so much for your input.

The letter appear to be cryllic, I think this is a Russian shot glass.

Yes it seems that the writing is cryllic, I tested the metal and it is either a very poor mixture of gold or gold plating, I tested it with nitric acid
