This one is fun. I found it when searching European Ebay. from the pic I was like, ohhh Harrach! but then I thought to myself wouldn't it be funny to come across a rare piece of American glass in Europe? You never see this sort of glass In European ebay... But Then when I actually looked at the photos sure enough it WAS A piece of rare american glass. the lid is marked MW as well.
I am not sure what the story is of how it ended up where it was. The product Harrach was putting out was just as nice and closer to home and a lot cheaper. So I really doubt this was imported. I suspect it was either a sample that a worker took home from Harrach, (they bought Foreign samples of glass they sought to emulate or compete with) Or a European immigrant from the states brought it over with them. Maybe it was an Army Wife or something.
It was quite the buy though. One just like this just sold at a major auction house right after I bought this for 1700.

stunning and very beautiful :) wow , merry christmas Gretasnowyowl:)
very nice -- what is the "glazing" -- unusual patina -- is this piece transparent
Many of the American glass companies retailed in Europe. One of the best Durand vases I have came from the Netherlands !
very low quantities must have been sold then because it's really rare to see american glass in the listings. you'd think you'd see a lot of it?
and yes this piece is transparent. the design only really pops in light.
sO, IS IT MOUNT WASHINGTON?
