This bottle has been on my wish list for some time and finally I convinced the owner to lower his asking price so that I could add it to my collection. I have never seen one like this before. I dont really collect bottles although I do have a couple just because of the shape and colour. But this one is so different. I wish I could have seen what it looked like before being buried for lord knows how long before it was dug up. All those years in the ground were not very nice to the finish but some of it still made it. I love the colors in it. I dont know what it would have held inside but if anyone has seen one or knows who made this awesome bottle please send me some information. I greatly appreciate all the help I get here on CW. Thanks and Enjoy

I have a really awesome update for this bottle. I was reading on a bottle collector site that the colors on this bottle is a natural occurance when a bottle has been burried for a long time. It is referred to as Benicia Iridescence and Patina on Bottles – Not a Sick Bottle Ive always been under the impression that Benicia glass is a certain form of mineral decomposition in the glass creating an abalone type iridescence and build up to the glass. Not just the typical sick or rainbow decomposition we are all familiar with with the majority of dug bottles? Ive seen what I thought to just be “sick” glass called Benicia while now and then there’s been a bottle called Benicia that really popped, took on a whole character of its own.
Finally there is an explanation! I wish I would have gotten to this bottle before the person destroyed all that beautiful color!!! Oh well, still a large enough area to bring alot of interest and conversation!

I couldn't bear to clean a patina like this off any bottle. It's stunning.
