Brass Road Runner Bird I found cleaning basement 7 1/2 " Long -3 1/2 inches tall . No markings on it and it is heavy I did not clean it . Is it a decoration ? It is heavy and I have no idea what it was used for . The bird is screwed to brass base and screws are phillips head and tarnished and rusty . any idea's ?

Definitely not a hood ornament, but road runners were popular pieces of Jewelry in the 1940's and 50's, so they probably just made it as an ornament. I think the big question here is " Was this made by the ACME Corporation ?" !~
I didn't think it was a hood ornament but the weight of it is so heavy , I think your right it is a table decoration maybe since it is so large

Mustang that could be it ? But I saw one just like it on a large square piece of marble . Would make a nice one though you may be right !!!!!!!! :-) Thank you I will use him to hold down my papers . He is left over from when we had a Antique shop several years ago and I would guess we got him at auction in a box lot years ago . We have been closed 6 years now .
