About 10 years ago I was left these bookends by an old lady who was deaf and partly blind. I don't know much about them, there are marks on the base but I think the old lady painted over the marks to try and make the marks stand out more but it seems to have done the opposite. I can make out 2 crossed swords through a circle and the letters DR and both are numbered 18131 Germany. I would be pleased if anyone could tell me more about it.
