While going through my old photos I came across this one. At first I focused in on the man trying to figure out who he was," I still don't know for sure", but then I realized he was on a sky-lift next to George Washington or Thomas Jeffersons face, at what must be Mount Rushmore. Pretty awesome photo and would love to find out more about it. Just wondering if its a tourism photo or if its an original.

It is difinitely Gutzum Borglum. Probably a press release, he was a grand self promoter. There were probably hundreds of these distributed. I have also seen this image on a period postcard. I live just two miles from Mt Rushmore.
Thanks rocker:)
I love everything about researching items like this. Thank god for the internet, cause I would have thought it was a photo of a brave distant relative.
Thanks everyone for the love:)
Incredible luck to have this photo. Yes, I agree with rocker-sd, as the outfit was one of his trademarks. Borglum knew this monument would make him famous and worked on it until he died, and then his son took over and finished it off. There have been a number of shows on him since on History channel !~
Thanks Phil:)
Thanks rniederman, I appreciate the love:)
