I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS MATERIAL WITHOUT DAVE'S MATERIALS. HE FOUND THE IDENTICAL SHAPE, BUT THIS TIME II-2824, 200 mm., MADE FOR WEISS AND BIHILLER FROM LONDON AROUND 1905. THUS, WE HAVE THE SAME SHAPE IN 5 DIFFERENT SIZES.
2. A PAIR: 3176 AND 3175
3. A HANDLE VARIANT THAT MAY VERY WELL BE RUCKL. FOR THERE IS DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE RUCKL DID ALSO MAKE THIS KIND OF JUG.

Hi Al, another great post. Interesting that Jitka puts a question of attribution on this as possibly a Marie Kirschner design.
Marty, a friend has sent Jitka an email asking about the attribution to Kirschner. When/if she writes him back, I'll post the comments here.
A NUMBER OF DESIGNERS WORKED ON NEW, MODERN HANDLES. YJR HOLLOW HANDLE IS CERTAINLY NEW. i'D SAY KOLO MOSER BEFORE I SAY KIRSHNER.
Well, Jitka answered my question. But it wasn't what we wanted. She basically said that she has seen no evidence that supports the KM attribution. During the period of time in which these pitchers were being made by Loetz, Marie Kirschner was the primary designer. Although Kolo Moser was still designing glass, he was primarily doing designs for Bakalowits. She also added that many different firms were producing the same shape pitcher...Loetz, Harrach, Hantich. That was not part of the question asked, but it is interesting just the same. I'm glad she added the question mark to her attribution, but without having any hard evidence, she should have just not said anything.
Did you write her yourself? What is her address? The fact is that the Kirshner attribution appears on her book. So this is new: a Loetz design being produced by many different companies?
It was our Croatian friend that wrote to her, Al. He had contacted her a couple of months ago, to find out if he could obtain her book for me. I think it is more a case of other companies copying Loetz's pitcher, but with slight changes. The attachment and style of the handle, pontil or no pontil, color, size etc.
