This chair has been in my family for 50+ years. I couldn't find anything like it on the internet other than some "sorta close" horseshoe back chairs of Asian descent. But this chair doesn't feel/look Asian. I'm wrong most of the time so I'd love for someone to tell me about this thing.
Much appreciated! Pat

The curved arms & carved "paw" feet suggest American Empire (ca. 1st half of the 19th c.) - there was also a revival of the style in the 1920s or so, and although it's impossible to tell w/o a good look at construction, I'd guess it's the latter. It's beautiful whatever it is!
