I believe seed bead jewelry dates to the 1920s and 1930s and was sold in DIY kits. The beads were probably Czech in origin. Generally, the brooches are either long bars, round, or oval shapes. The backs are silk covered with the pin mechanism sewn on. Here's a pic of my collection. There are also examples of earrings and a necklace....and my most prized...a basket brooch.
