Since I've shown a few 2mm blank pinfire pistols in various styles, such as, pocket watch chain fobs, tie clasp, cuff links, or just as a pistol in the cap gun section, I thought it would be fun to show another one with pearl grips and compare it to a real (not a toy) 15mm pinfire double-barrel pistol.
The photos show the comparison in pistol size, the barrel bore size, the cartridge size and a loaded chamber of each.
The 2mm blank pistol was manufactured after WWII in Japan and has a vented barrel. It is a square butt model with pearl grips. The overall length is 1.78 inches and it weighs 0.35 ounces.
The 15mm double-barrel pistol does not have any markings on it, but was likely manufactured in Spain in the mid to late 1800's. It has concealed double triggers. When the hammers are cocked in the firing position, the triggers fall into the firing position. It has a sliding sight that doubles as a safety. When it is in the safety position, the slotted plate covers the exposed firing pin on the cartridge not allowing the hammers to come in contact with the pins. When in the cocked position, the sight assembly is moved forward, and the cartridge pins are exposed, and it is ready to fire. The overall length is 10 inches and it weighs 1.65 pounds.
The overall length of the 2mm blank cartridge is 3.78mm and diameter is 2.2mm.
The overall length of the 15mm cartridge and bullet is 37mm and the diameter is 15.4mm.
I really like these little 2mm pinfire pistols and this shows how small they really are. I hope you enjoy looking at this.
