Late Copeland Spode bottle commissioned by Andrew Usher & Co., Distillers, Edinburgh, to commemorate the Coronation of King George Vth and Queen Mary June 22nd 1911. Portraits of George and Mary on banners on one side, royal coat of arms on the other. This bottle was executed in olive green, tan and white. There is a cobalt blue and white version, and several stoppers: crowns in two sizes: a plain round in matching green; plain round in blue and white for the cobalt. The bronze stopper shown here is probably not original to the bottle. Note the rose, thistle and shamrock sprigs on the neck, representing England, Scotland and Ireland, the Welsh leek being absent.
