Does anybody know what this is? I just acquired it in hopes of using it for making some leather sheaths. I figured it was an ordinary singer until I started looking a little closer. This one has me puzzled. It says singer on the arm and Medallion. It looks like a much simpler version of the 29K. I cannot find a single picture of it anywhere. The serial number is 6534137, should be 1885 according to that. It also has the smaller number below 123137 which seems useless to me. It has a 12" throat. The back side is open and does not have any bolt holes or fasteners of any type to indicate it was ever enclosed. The base has the open heart pattern as the picture shows. I did see a similar base on a #2K Singer, but this is certainly not a 2K. I have more pictures for anyone that might help me identify it. I would love to put it back in service. Thanks.

I think you're right, it is a 29 - an early version without the big upper arm.

You will see these described as UFA - this stands for Universal Feed Arm which means the machine can sew in any direction as it doesn't have feed teeth - you can turn the work any way you like. It's the same principle as doing free motion work on a sewing machine, with the feed dogs dropped or covered.

Yes that is a Universal feed arm. The mid brace for the treadle base for this machine is styled in the large logo manner as are the sides.
Hallo, ik heb onlangs identiek hetzelfde gekocht Kompleet met het gietijzeren onderstel. Ik vond hem erg mooi als decoratie en hij doet het nog.
