This is a wood-handled fixed blade hunter's knife. The metal part goes the entire length of 8" with a 4" cutting blade. Blade is stamped Stainless Steel / Made in China. The wood sides are attached with four allen-head star embossed black screws. The leather strap was my add-on. This was my "pumpkin cutter" up on the old farm I used to work on. - Best recollection memory is explaining to the County Sheriff the correct definition of "tool" and "weapon".
