This is a current project of teds and mine -- these are what are known as the his and hers rockers of the mid 1800s -- all of the pics are of the male rockers -- i love to restore
pic 1 -- the his chair -- not comfortable too low for our bodies today
pic 2 -- completed rocker -- had to chase the mice out of that one
pic 3 -- inside stuffings -- have more pics if you are interested in restoration
pic 4 -- my last baby -- she is a work in progress -- black leather with a needlepoint insert that took me over a year to complete
they are not so comfortable as the human race was smaller in statue during that era-- if you are long legged -- you get the best rock if you extend the legs and push with the toes -- total little butt draggers -- i love them simply for the woodworking --

Hi epson! my grandmother had a whole set of these! couch, 4 arm chairs, (one with arms) and bigger living room chair! My dad and I threw all over the creek bank on the farm! except my mom kept the platform rocker!! I will post it today!!
