Hello Again,
Another recent purchase,( yesterday:)
Sold to me as Russian Sterling & Malachite earrings
marked with a head followed by 925
also marked with what looks like a 5 B O
The translucence of the stone looks makes me think it must be Jade, not Malachite
they were pretty dull when I got them, but cleaned up very nicely
Thanks for taking a peek, any thoughts about them?
Tony.

Kevin, Tony, Sean, and Kerry,.........Grazie Mille!
These are so pretty. Heavy? Oh we girls must suffer for beauty ; )
Looking at the photos, it certainly doesn't appear to be malachite. I couldn't say if it is jade or not, though.
Thanks Amber and Kindy!
They are lovely, and I'm sure your correct, Kindy, that they're not malachite
I'll have a jeweler take a look at them to see if they are jade,( as I suspect )
then I'll post the report.
Thanks again,
T
Thanks for the love AGram.m
and Happy New Year!
Could it be chrysoprhase? From what I see it has the same look.
Its definately not malachite.
Thank You New Time, wonderful tip! I looked up Chrysoprase and agree that the look is very similar, you may have hit the nail on the head.
Happy New Year and Happy Collecting,
Tony
It is nephrite (related to jade), a very common stone in contemporary Russian silver jewelry.
Hello Davy D,
