Scott had requested me to post my uncle's shoulder patches from the 251st Air Defense Artillery and the 7th Air Force. My Uncle Art joined the 251st Coast Artillery in 1940 at Fort MacArthur, CA. After Pearl Harbor the 251st was mustered into the regular Army. The Army discharged my uncle for being underage. He rejoined the Army a year later and was sent to Hawaii.

I'm curious about the little circles around the patch on the right. They were put there for a reason. Bet AR can tell us. Hey, Kevin, are you awake? Kevin probably knows where the "holy Grail" is & what the carvings symbolize.
Those circles around the sails mean something. Wake up Kevin!!
Nice items tom-- they are in fantastic condition!
The small insignia that I have should go with YOUR group! If you've got an email or address posted, I'd be happy to mail it on to you.

Got it tom.

These are beautiful patches, which I had never seen before. The photo is beautiful and winsome, and the account of your courageous and patriotic father is very inspiring. I shall put this noble warrior in my "Military History" collection, where I park heroes who inspire me. Wonderful.
