There was a mint error for this year/mintmark - both a D over S and an S over D. - Be sure to check the mintmark carefully with a jeweler's loupe.
mustangtony. Thank you for the heads up. I will do so this evening.
Hi mustangtony. I updated a closer shot of the quarter. Doesn't look like an S over D, or D over S....whichever. Thanks though.
Yeah, the picture looks like a clear and definite S. - How do get such great close-up shots of your coins? I am reluctant to post my coin collection because I just get enormous backflash.
hey...yes I agree, S it is. I actually made a cheap light box out of an old box and some fabric. Then I got one of those "natural" white light from the hardware store (the kind that take a few minutes to turn on). When I take the picture I put my camera as close to the item as possible without a shadow and snap. I do not use a flash. Do you use a light box? I think that is the key.
I also use the macro option on the camera. Whatever that means...its seems to work.
OK - I guess my new project will be to build a light box. I don't get enough natural light to take without a flash, the pictures all come out blurry without any flash. I even tried all 6 different light settings. I quit adding my glass and china stuff because I can't get a decent picture. Thanks for the advice.
hey, yeah here is the DIY I followed. It works really well.

Thanks BHock - I'll get to work on one right away.
