Give some details. What is it made of? Is the lid made to poke an eye out or just looks that way? Give us something to work with or you get no interest.
it is made of wood. lid too has acorn top man ingraved on side.man drinking from stine aprox 23in tall makersmark onbottom tryangle
Would like to see closeups of carvings. If unlined, I wonder how it is sealed to protect the divine flavour of the hops?
russsoppe, I' certainly no scholar on steins so you might want to delete your last post. It just looked interesting & wanted to see better pics. & see what quality the reliefs showed. It's an interesting piece but we can't tell the quality from 1 vague pic.. Also, it appears to me, that when the lid is flipped-up, there is that pointed piece pointed at an eye. Am I seeing it backwards? Wood is an odd material for a stein as it has to be sealed or gives a flavour. If sealed, it has to be something that doesn't affect flavour. I work with wood & was curious. I'm not looking to buy.
