    This is a very solid and heavy piece of Art Deco period slag glass in the form of a stepped lamp. It is just the right size for my bedside table. I have no idea who the maker is.

      do you think it is glass or could it be agate or alabaster due to the weight -- just a thought

      Hmmm... how would I be able to tell if it were something other than glass?

      Dear Gayle,
      I think your lamp was made by Akro Agate Glass. I need to check but it is too late now so I'll get back to you tomorrow. They may have just supplied the base and shade but I'll let you know.

      Thanks, I agree with you. I looked at my bidding history and it was advertised as akro agate. Wish I could find another, I just love it.
