kindy

I bought this item from a garage sale run by an elderly couple who used to own an antique store. They had a whole garage overflowing with stuff from their old store that had been sitting in there for a long time and they no longer needed any of it.
I bought a whole bunch a goodies from them, but the lady seemed to think this one in particular was something special. She told me "it's worth a fair bit" and charged me $10 for it. Now, I never really believe people when they say things like this, because I've noticed that whenever I ask about an item, people have a habit of exaggerating it's age or value, haha. I basically just bought it because I liked it.
I have searched and I cannot find any information on the artist "G Rosi". Can anyone give me any information at all about this piece? Thanks :)

very nice style kindy -- is it wood or some other material -- has nice lines
Thanks epson233. You know, I thought it was wood, but my partner thinks otherwise. He seems to think it may have been cast from a mould. It sounds kind of hollow. Perhaps it's painted to look like carved wood. Hard to tell.
some how it reminds me of a religious item -- especially the way the hair is braided in the back -- can't find anything yet on it either
It's funny you say that, because I've been thinking the same. He/she appears to be wearing a robe, long braid, and there is a band or crown around the head. I'm absolutely clueless lol.
Thanks mustangtony :)
