Sorry it took me so long to get an image for you, Czechman. This is my Ruckl six sided, matt finish, multi. Notice particularly how the dirt accentuates the gadrooned details. :O)
As I have mentioned here before, it is my hope that one day fitters on shades will tell us almost as much about the shade as pontil marks, or lack of them can tell us about vases. One can dream! ;o)
This Ruckl shade has a lovely fitter. The flame shade is similar only in that it shares a matt finish. The fitter is however, totally different in profile. It is of course the same size, 3 and one quarter inches.
I would be thrilled to hear that this fitter is common to Ruckl shades. Does anyone have any Ruckl that are not as the one pictured? Does anyone have shades made by other companies that have this fitter profile? If so please do let me know. I may well be reaching for the stars but it will not be a first for me, I am learning to bounce quite well. :O)
I took the opportunity to shoot some other things while my tent and tripod were up. I will add more shades, a lamp, and my frogless or rimless vases as discussed earlier this week. Additionally, some other bits and pieces.
Too late for me now. Off up the wooden stairs. Good night and Thank you!
Sincerely,
Lisa

    Dear Czechman,
Really? Both Ruckl? So no hope for the fitter profile? ;O( That is very very sad.
I wonder why they would change the profile on two shades of the same size fitter? A mystery remains along with what do we think, a zillion more in the world of Czech art glass. :O)
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

How rude! I got excited. I should have begun with my thanks to Vetrio, Ozmarty, Hornet ( the yellow shade was what prompted me to add this one as requested by the poster), Czechman and Dave. Thanks for the love. I have more to show you now.

    Dear Obscurities,
Yes, thank you that is very helpful. Yes the fitters for these shades are a standard size but the difference I see is in the profile of the fitters. The flame is the standard notch for lack of a better term and yes, it is used on both sides of the ''pond''. The fitter I have shown above is not found on American made shades. It is found on Bohemian shades, I do not know enough, yet, if it may turn out to be a marker for a particular factory or perhaps a group of factories but hope is still alive and well in the little mind of this shade collector in Canada. :O) I can still hang on to my puzzle piece and know that it perhaps, has not been disproved thus far.
I also don't collect based on makers, I buy shades with my heart and then what my wallet can handle. So whatever the outcome I am a happy collector surrounded by beautiful glass.
May I ask if anyone has images of Ruckl shades that have been proven to be so? Are there any catalogues, or factory papers with line drawings available? The yellow shade that Czechman posted is marked is it not? It does have the exact size, shape including the distinctive fitter and matt finish. From our discussions earlier shape and decor can be markers to determining pieces that were made by the same factory. On that basis I would propose that this fitter, the gadroon detail, the same size. The little details, like the curve above the fitter and below the main part of the shade and the fitter profile could very well be enough to say that both the yellow shade posted by Czechman and the predominantly orange shade I posted are related.;o) The flame though? Not so much. Just my very humble opinion and my mind is very open to other views.
It is so easy to get excited when a piece can be attributed, for me at least, and I find I am off in the land of dreams very quickly. I shall endeavour to cool my jets, and explore, stay open, and less concerned with the who dunnit part. :O)
Thank you all. I am so very happy to be able to be part of this fabulous group of people. There are so many great minds here and so much passion for our chosen collections. It is a thrill to read the posts, see the images and feel so inspired to learn more and more.
Thank you too for all the love, as you say.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

Thank you very much to your input. I am honoured that you would take the time to help with my edjamacation. :O) I will keep on looking at fitters and hope that it may just be a puzzle piece that will click into place one day. I have other examples of the fitter we discussed and I will shoot some of those and post them. Perhaps their shapes or decor will spark some more discussions.
Thank you so very much for your time and interest. I can't really explain how much it means to me.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa
