Meet my latest purchase... A Kralik Thorn Vase with an Applied Amethyst Footed base and in a RARE End of Day Spatter Decor... a VERY RARE Example.. NEVER have i seen another Thorn in this End of day decor!.. the colors are absolutely gorgeous, so bright and bold just the way i like my glass.. i havent much experience with the thorn vase's have only owned one other long time ago and sold it.. later on wishing i hadn't!.. this one tho when i saw it, i knew i had to have it and here it is... as i said i dont have much exp with the thorns but i really feel this piece is Kralik.. i could be wrong, i have been wrong ALOT lately.. I figured i would let Alfredo tell me his opinion on that since he is the "King of Thorns" and anyone else who has an idea please feel free to say so.. 12" tall 1 1/4" across rim unmarked

Wild! Normally I'm not attracted to splatter type decors, but I love the way it looks when pulled/stretched like this. This is certainly a vase that demands attention!
many thanks cogito for the wonderful comment, and thanks to forewhales, v50

So far, because of its similarity to the thorns in the Hosch catalog and in the BB, I'd say Kralik.
Kralik did indeed produce thorns, but I also tend believe Ruckl did as well. Gary's thorn has six sides at the cut rim, and a thin layer of coloured glass sandwich between other layers of glass. From the cased examples with embossed decors that are Ruckl, some of the thorn vases I have are produced the same way. Green and crystal are the only colours showing in the Hosch for Kralik. In BB, imported Bohemian glasswares are offered an assortment.
thanks for the loves ozmarty, madforglass.es, manddmoir, leah, nicole and alfredo

Love this. Got an orange thorn the other day. will get it posted soon. Mine has clear foot but the thorns seem to be the same as yours...Never knew they made such bold colored thorns, but like you I have little to no experience with them until now...Will be getting more in the future though. Im loving em!!!!
