Here is a czech spatter glass shade that in my opinion may possibly have been made by kralik. The zig zag shape is a pretty common shape in their deco pieces. Of course the zigzag shapes scream deco, so I am sure they were made by many others as well.

However, if you look at this shade and my bambus, they are extremely similar. I think if you believe my bambus shade is Kralik, then you might believe this piece may very well be Kralik as well.

Sorry for the poor picture comparison. Those are the only pictures I have of the spatter shade, as it is no longer in my possession. I had not planned on posting it, but I figured I'd go ahead and post it up and let others form their own opinion(if any, other than it being czech-deco :) ).

Also, the clear casing on the outside of the Bambus shade gives it a little more of a pointed look(as the clear part can be hard to see), but in person they look VERY similar.

I have personally wondered how Kralik did not make any of the spatter shades(as I've never seen the name come up in spatter shade discussions), especially the ball shades. They made tons and tons of spatter pieces and ball vases, they also made ball shades in known Kralik decors. So, I would think (obviously not "know")they would have also made spatter shades(at least ball ones). Seems like they would have been easy for them to make. I figure if Ruckl had single-handedly sold so many of these I assume others would have joined the bandwagon and started lining their pockets with profits from these shades as well...considering the ultra generic shape(ball) and decor(spatter).

Again, I am not 110% sure the blue shade is Kralik and as you've seen there may be some doubt as to the Bambus manufacturer. Just thought I would throw this on as a little "food for thought" so others could make their own choice.

I must say I don't really think it matters though. It doesn't change what it is...It's a cool deco era spatter glass czech made shade.

When I first came here a year ago, I thought I had to have a name for everything and it certainly took a lot of time for me to truly understand that would never happen, but I am finally starting to understand and starting to see the light :). That said I'm still a bit of a newb imo and have SOOOO much more to learn. I'm sure there are quite a few of you on here that have already forgotten more than I have even been able to absorb over my first year with czech glass.
