Here is a large alluvial nugget of pure gold from Madagascar.
The specimen was found in 1999 in the rainy season; located in river mud a few km North West of Maevatanana on the highway between Antananrivo and Majunga in the centre of Madagascar.
The deposit/locality is all but worked out and no other specimen of this size has ever been found.
The weight is 248 grams, a shade under 8 Troy ounces!
