THANK YOU LEAH!!!!
This vase gave me the sweetest of dreams and the worst nightmares all at the same time. I have been wanting a thorn vase ever since I started checking them out here on CW. I love the color orange and when I saw this, I couldnt believe my eyes. I had seen almost every other typical color imaginable...cranberry, uranium, those combined, clear, etc...but never an orange thorn. With orange being one of my favorite colors I wanted this one really, really badly. After harrassing poor Leah for almost a month, I convinced her that it would look really great in my glass collection. There has been some controversy as to who the maker is of this thorn, but Im going to side with Leah on this one being Ruckl. I have tried to include a photo of the layers of glass to show the thin layer of orange cased inbetween the clear crystal layers. I am open to discussion on the maker though if anyone has something to add. Either way I LOVE IT!!! Thanks again Leah for making this amature collector VERY happy!
I wanted to add also that the picture of the vase standing on the rim was no accident. I wanted to show the care and precission taken to grind the rim totally level. there was no wobble and it appears to be perfectly level. That shows me more to the quality this thorn was produced with. Just another thing I found interesting about this thorn vase....

Was wondering does this glow orange under UV?
NativeJewlerylovers, I am sorry it has taken so long to respond to your question. We have been having issues with our ISP as of late and have finally got all the kinks worked out. This vase does not react to UV light. I have a small collection of Vaseline and Uranium glass and I am always amazed at what glows. In fact I have recently tested some of my Wheaton glass collection and found one bottle of Charles Lindberg that glows. It is one of many on my list of items to post. Thank you for looking at my collection. Have a great day.
